a little catch up



eta: i wrote this on sunday...just took me this long to get photos attached.  didn't want you to think that we made d wait today to celebrate father's day.  that would be mean.

i recently had thirteen days off only to return to working four in a row before another day off. let me first say that i soooooo loved being a "stay at home" mama again and it was very difficult to go back to work. today was my day off and i needed it. felt like my calf muscle was separating from my bone...the joys of running around for 8 hours straight. (and yes, running i did) you would think i would be 30 pounds lighter, but nah i wouldn't be that lucky.

today we spent the day loving d. had no idea what to get the man besides very expensive things. like everything we can't afford so, i thought of what i would love and we went crafty. (so what if it was a double sided present. he owed me since i got a toaster oven for christmas.) i painted the boys hands and framed them. m picked out the frames and one for photos of him and q with daddy to put on his desk at work. he said they are perfect. and since i "accidentally" spent his itunes gift card he got from something, i got him a new one and promised i wouldn't use this one! i think the gifts were a success. good thing since m started running a fever and felt like crud all day. hoping he wakes up tomorrow feeling like a brand new little guy, but i am already planning on calling the dr. that will be fun.

we were this close to getting out of this icky town, but we just couldn't justify it yet. an offer in another state closer to my mama and the town was amazing. it was almost heaven and we were soooo sad to turn it down. very sad. incredibly sad. did i mention we were sad. heart broken. all of us. we got home from that quick trip and i packed up my suitcase and headed back "home" to ks to spend some time with s & s. i was an emotional day as we drove away from il wondering if we should/could, pulling into mo knowing we don't want to stay here (ok, mainly me), and then driving to ks where we began and made our home for five years. i got to spend some quality time with sloane and loved every second of it. it was nice to be there alone so i could enjoy all of her and spend time with shan and not be "mom." felt like being back at welm. just add a few years.

i shipped out some letters i made for a lady in ca. she wanted them pretty plain. hope she likes them. oh and here are a two not so plain ones that i made for a lady here in town. should find out if i got into southside in the next couple weeks. hoping so. loved that weekend last year. oh and i enrolled myself into school. with m going to preschool five days a week and having to put q in daycare five days a week, i will have two days a week to work on school stuff and then still have another day off reserved for whatever. so i am looking forward to it and am hoping to get my associates before we move onto our next adventure and then complete my bachelor's wherever we end up. first time i have been happy about school...looking forward to it. and shan said she'd send snacks...worked at york. if only we had more classes together!

now off to watch the finals. go thunder. side note: the new women's bball coach at western is from ok. he and d were talking the other day and said how amazing of a guy durant is. (i like him myself. i mean, he hugged his mama on the sidelines. ps. d interviewed his brother multiple times in ks when he played bball in high school. i know, he wasn't as good as his older brother obviously, but was good enough to earn awards at the military school he went to.) the coach's son passed away a year ago in april. he was high school/college ageish. the blue wristband that durant wears is in honor of him. coach said, "a lot of people talk can talk for hours about how good of a basketball player he is, but i can talk for hours about how good of a person he is." yep, i have goosebumps, too. (and please don't call them "goosies" jennifer lopez.) just another reason why i am rooting for the thunder.
